So, as an avid Mac user and Android phone user. I found myself succumbing to an iPhone. After all, I am a software designer. One major feature that makes such leaps is the iPhones patented facial unlocking feature…but what’s the benefit to you?

Can you imagine a world of endless surveillance? Can you imagine the idea of freedom of speech being duct-taped shut or better yet, your face monitored 79 times a day? My children’s future.

Anyways... I find the facial unlock which is essentially a fingerprint a dark idea. Here’s why.

What is a fingerprint? According to Google (+ *my edit), a fingerprint is…

“an impression or mark made on a surface by a person’s *(fingertip, face, forehead?) especially as used for identifying individuals from the unique pattern of whorls and lines.”

What's the first thing that sticks out (no pun intended)? An impression…what’s an impression?

…an idea, feeling, or opinion about something or someone, especially one formed without conscious thought or on the basis of little evidence.

Can your forehead be the next fingerprint? or is there more to it? What about your unique eyes, mouth, teeth, ears even…hair? This is very “close” its very specific…very catalogued…calculated, sophisticated, isolated... Is it getting cold in here???

What do you think about this patented invention? Have the people ever had a say in this? Should we and if so how? Why would we really even care?

(Follow this is progressing story as it unfolds).

This short article is not finished. Freedom of speech.

Hope you like it so far! How will it end? The world may never know.
